About this section

I am cute and have psychological problems! :3

So, this is my tulpamancy journal lol.

If you don't already know, tulpamancy is essentially just trying really hard to trick your brain into intentionally creating a sort of second conscious entity called a tulpa -- usually a companion you've created from scratch, or perhaps based on an existing character -- that has autonomy and you can interact with like a real person. While it's all still in your head, the end goal is generally to go far enough where you can "impose" them on the real world (ie. force a hallucination), or for some they try to go even further. Make of all this what you will.

None of this is intended to be a definitive resource, just my own notes and observations that I've felt like sharing. The tulpa(?) I'm developing is my Digimon partner, Phalanx! I'll make a dedicated page for him at some point.

If you have any comments/thoughts/questions, feel free to send me an email or whatever. I'm gradually learning new things as I go! Or if you wanna call me a delusional idiot, you can do that too.

Links & Resources

Just some resources that have personally helped me, there's obviously way more than this out there.

There is no one way to do tulpamancy, as there is no formal practice. I've noticed a lot of guides will touch on the same topics but with different methods or ideas, so it's best to just read a bunch of guides and see what sticks or resonates with you.

  • tulpanomicon.guide - A great collection of guides by various authors
  • tulpa.info - Guides and a good FAQ. They also have a forum, which I find is more... intriguing to browse than informational
  • TulpaGuides Youtube channel - Quick video format guides, I find they're more good for concise info. Apparently the author is a channer and the Discord he promotes is extremely questionable, but the information he provides on his channel is still helpful
  • r/Tulpas wiki - It's a Reddit wiki. Lots of links and info here
  • The Daemon Page - Info relating to daemonism and developing a daemon, it's a similar but related topic and I think having info on it is helpful in underlining that there is no "one way" to develop a companion for yourself
  • How to Find Your Own Daemon - Another daemonism resource, I saw someone link this in relation to them developing their own Digimon partner once which I thought was interesting
