My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

If you've been around on the internet over the past 15 years, you've probably heard about bronies. For better or for worse, I am also one LOL

Some backstory

When I was a young child in the 2000s I liked MLP G3 -- I was never super into it, but I liked having pony toys and I had a few VHS tapes and DVDs that came with some of the special ponies (I specifically remember having Star Catcher who came with the Dancing in the Clouds VHS iirc). However, G3 MLP was VERY different from what was to come in later years.

In about 2011 I think I saw a G4 Rainbow Dash RP blog on Tumblr, and I was intrigued by the art style to the point that I thought "there's no way this is actually MLP." I ended up looking into the show, which just had one season at the time, and I started watching the whole thing which I really enjoyed.

I was super into FIM for probably the next 5-ish years where I watched episodes live, participated in forums, and overall just witnessed a shit ton of brony fan content over the years. I watched the episodes as they aired until some point into season six (2016) before finally moving onto other things, but I feel like it's remained super influential to me despite everything.

I recently started rewatching FIM in 2026, and it's very interesting to revisit old episodes I'd forgotten about. It also gives me a really weird feeling, as I still vaguely associate a lot of the characters with people from old forums, and tbh there are a lot of negative feelings and memories with that (as it happens when you end up being a 12-16 year old hanging around mostly adult channer men online). Regardless, I still enjoy the show, and I have found myself enjoying drawing cartoon horses and creating OCs/stories again. Yay!

Sunset is my favourite overall and my "just like me fr" character, while Rarity is my fav of the mane six. The others I just like for various random reasons.

Movies

Not gonna lie, I am a hardcore Equestria Girls truther. When the OG movie came out I saw that shit in theatres, and I expected it to be mediocre or even bad. However, I actually absolutely loved it and came out a believer. EqG is probably my favourite part of FIM overall, hence Sunset Shimmer being my overall fav character (her going from antagonist to main protagonist was crazy).

I wholeheartedly believe that Rainbow Rocks is one of the best FIM entries to ever come out, that movie is so good. Actual peak.
